Summary: Quiz Parade has no account and collects no personal information. Your scores and stats stay on your device. The app sends a small number of anonymous usage and crash events, with no identifiers and none of your answers, to help keep it working.

Introduction

This policy covers two things operated by Matt Donders: the Quiz Parade app for iPhone, and the Quiz Parade Publisher, a private server-side tool that uploads Quiz Parade's daily videos to its own YouTube channel.

Information We Collect

No personal information. Quiz Parade does not ask you to sign up or sign in, and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or any identifier for you or your device.

The app sends anonymous events such as "quiz started", "quiz completed", "Daily Quiz completed", and whether a question pack downloaded successfully. Each event contains only the event name, the app version, the pack it relates to, and a number such as a score or a count. Events are not linked to each other, to a device, or to a person, and they never include your individual answers.

If the app crashes, iOS provides a crash summary through Apple's MetricKit framework. Quiz Parade sends only the type of crash and the app version: no stack traces, device identifiers, or personal data.

Data Storage

Your scores, statistics, settings and downloaded question packs are stored on your device. They are not uploaded. Deleting the app removes them.

Downloaded Content

New question packs and the Daily Quiz are downloaded from quizparade.mattdonders.com, which is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare necessarily processes your device's IP address to deliver the request. Quiz Parade does not store IP addresses or use them to identify you.

Game Center

Leaderboards use Apple Game Center and are optional. If you are signed in to Game Center, your score is submitted to Apple under your Game Center profile. That data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Quiz Parade does not receive your Apple Account details.

Notifications

The daily reminder is off by default. If you turn it on, the reminder is scheduled on your device by iOS. No push service or server is involved.

Tracking, Advertising, and Purchases

Quiz Parade has no advertising, does not track you across apps or websites, contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and has no in-app purchases. We do not sell or share any data.

Children's Privacy

Quiz Parade is family-friendly trivia intended for grown-ups and kids to enjoy together. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, because it collects no personal information at all.

Quiz Parade Publisher and Google User Data

The Quiz Parade Publisher is a private automation tool used only by its owner. It is not offered to the public and no other users sign in to it. It uses Google OAuth to access the owner's own Quiz Parade YouTube channel with two permissions:

youtube.upload: to upload and schedule Quiz Parade's daily videos.
youtube.readonly: to confirm which channel it is connected to and to check the processing and publishing status of the videos it uploaded.

OAuth tokens are stored on a private server with restricted access and are used only for these purposes. They are never shared with third parties, placed in a public repository, or used for advertising. No data from any other person's Google account is accessed. Access can be revoked at any time from Google Account permissions.

The Publisher's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Uploaded videos are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
